At Sandboxx, we are always working hard to listen to our customers and families. In this series, learn more about people who utilize Sandboxx to stay connected with their recruits and service members.

Meet Emely, a Marine Corps partner. Sandboxx made it easier for her to reach out to her recruit, and even kept him motivated.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your recruit.

My name is Emely, and my partner Hiram, is an OCS candidate for the USMC. We are both from Los Angeles, CA!

How did sending letters with Sandboxx help you connect and stay in touch with your recruit during basic training?

This was our first time being apart from each other for an extended period of time. The next day delivery and convenience of the Sandboxx app has been amazing. I attach photos to each letter and the quick delivery ensures he has a few letters to read every week. He expressed that the letters and pictures have helped him stay motivated during this time and get through the rigorous training that he is currently going through.

How did you first hear about Sandboxx? After using it for a while, what do you think about Sandboxx?

I received a text message from the Sandboxx app with an invitation to join, including Hiram’s address. He provided my phone number to receive the invitation to join. I think Sandboxx is great! It’s fast, easy to use, and cost-effective. It’s made it easier to connect with my partner and would recommend it for anyone going through their recruit being away for their training.

What are your recruit’s future plans?

Because he is an officer candidate, he has to graduate college first, then commission and head to TBS. That isn’t for two more years, so in the meantime we’ll be spending our days in sunny California! When that time comes, we’ll be moving to Quantico to start TBS.
